HiSAM: Art Off the Wall

The No. 1 Capitol District Building, the state government office building which houses the Hawaii State Art Museum and the State Foundation on Culture and the Arts offices, Artizen café, and HiSAM Gallery Shop, will be closed on Saturday, September 9, 2017. The museum will be closed for the day and all scheduled activities have been cancelled. The museum is scheduled to reopen on Tuesday, September 12, 2017.

An offbeat, interpretive experience that will have you thinking about art through storytelling and music with master storyteller Jeff Gere and musician Charlie Myers. If these works of art could speak, sing, tell a tale or speak a poem, what would they speak, sing, or say? Let’s find out!

Museum galleries will be open; admission is always free. Tours begin at 11:30 a.m., 12:15, 1:00, and 1:45 p.m. Meet in the second floor Sculpture Lobby at the visitors desk.
