Janet Carafa, Kaua`i mime artist

A Mime Artist speaks! Come to Art Lunch for a meet-the-artist session with Kaua‘i Mime Artist Janet Carafa.

Janet had the great gift to study intensively with the Master of Mime, Marcel Marceau, and performed for fifteen years as lead company member of The American Mime Theatre in New York City with mime master Paul J Curtis, creator/ director. She will perform, share insights, stories and experiences about her life as a mime artist with the masters of Mime – and the new evolving Art of Mime that is emerging today.

Join us to learn how to “touch the invisible and listen to silence.”

Janet Carafa is an Arts First Teaching Artist. She has taught and performed extensively at many locations in NYC with The American Mime Theatre, including Lincoln Center & the Museum of Modern Art. In the Islands, she has taught Art of Mime at Hawaii Children’s Theatre as faculty member for five years, teaching and directing children and young adults. She presently teaches, performs and gives workshops on Kaua‘i and in NYC and is a foremost participant in the new evolution of the Art of Mime.
