AITS Applications Close

The School Year 2020-21 Artists in the Schools arts residency grants provide engaging, creative and fun learning experiences based on the Fine Arts standards for all grade levels, through residencies with qualified trained teaching artists from the Artistic Teaching Partners (ATP) Roster. Many of these teaching artists integrate their art form with other core curriculum areas, such as language arts, math, social studies, and science, meeting both Fine Arts and other core standards.

Kids Dance Workshop on Zoom: Mauli Ola Cook

About the Class

In honor of Ocean Day (June 8), professional dancer and SFCA Artistic Teaching Partner Mauli invites you to join her in dancing creatively about the ocean that surrounds us. We will be weaving words and movement together in praise of the sea. Please dress comfortably and be prepared to move!

From breakdancing in the streets of San Francisco to starring in movies on the silver screen, Dante Basco has become one of the most recognizable faces in Hollywood and truly an Asian American icon with a career spanning over three decades. He was first introduced in Steven Spielberg’s fairytale movie Hook, as “Rufio”, the leader of the Lost Boys, which quickly developed into a fandom phenomenon. Dante has also voiced some of the most celebrated projects in animation and video games such as “Jake Long” in Disney’s animated series American Dragon: Jake Long, as well as “Prince Zuko” in Nickelodeon’s phenomenal hit, Avatar: The Last Airbender.
