Resolutions urging the SFCA to increase opportunities for arts and culture in Hawaiʻi and a resolution urging DBEDT to collaborate with state universities to convene the Hawaii Creative Innovation Group.

Senate Committee on Energy, Economic Development, and Tourism

The Senate Committee on Energy, Economic Development, and Tourism has a hearing on resolutions requesting the Department of Business, Economic Development, and Tourism (DBEDT) to collaborate with universities. The resolutions identify Hawaiʻi’s cultural creatives, fabric and fashion designers, graphic artists, musicians, songwriters, and performing artists as “intrinsic to the identity of the State” and the fashion and music industries as contributors “to economic growth, job creation, cultural preservation, and tourism development.”

The Senate Committee on Transportation and Culture and the Arts has a hearing on resolutions encouraging the SFCA to convene task forces and increase opportunities for artists and performers in Hawaiʻi.
