In letters to state legislators, SFCA Artistic Teaching Partner Alyce Dodge thanked them for their support of the SFCA Artists in the Schools (AITS) program. “Thanks to the legislature funding this vital program, students are able to experience the Arts in their public school. This program gives the students opportunity to express their creativity and gain knowledge, skills, connection and confidence. In this day and age, creativity, creative thinking and creative problem solving are very valuable. Thank you for your part in providing an Arts program to students who otherwise wouldn’t have this experience.”

The participating third-grade students wrote thank you notes, which included “…it’s so fun that we get to do all these arts on Tuesdays and that’s why I like to come to school everyday so I can do art with you and my friends. I’m so thankful.” “You made my life even happier and full of courage. It surprises me to make me better at art.”
