In February 2024, Senator Donovan Dela Cruz and Representative Lauren Matsumoto attended the closing ceremony for a Mililani Mauka Elementary School student exhibit, created during an Artists in the School residency with Artistic Teaching Partner Alyce Dodge. Students did a show-and-tell with the legislators about the artworks they created during the residency, in which they explored traditional barkcloth patterns throughout the Pacific.
