The annual Hawaiʻi Regional Scholastic Art Awards competition portal opens October 1, 2025. Hawai’i students grades 7-12 (ages 13 and up) are eligible.
Gold Key award-winning artworks from the competition will be exhibited at Capitol Modern (Hawaiʻi State Art Museum) February 14 – March 14, 2026.
Submissions are submitted through the Art and Writing Awards online portal and are due by December 12, 2025. Learn more about how to enter on the Hawaiʻi Art Region page: ArtAndWriting.org/regions/HI001A
Cash prizes and scholarships
For this year’s competition SFCA is working alongside local business partner Lexus Hawai‘i, major sponsor and co-presenter for this year’s awards and exhibition. Lexus Hawaiʻi is funding scholarship award opportunities for our student artists:
Lexus Hawaiʻi Takumi Award
- Awarded to 20 students statewide
- $200 cash prize per student
- Statewide recognition and feature opportunities

Lexus Hawaiʻi Visionary Award
- Up to two nationally recognized Gold or Silver Medal-winning students will each receive a $4,000 scholarship
- Each student’s school will also receive a $4,000 grant to support its art program
- Student and school awards are awarded together
Scholarship recipients must place nationally and plan on attending the national ceremony to represent Hawai’i. Winners who receive national recognition will be automatically eligible for scholarship and grant consideration. A submission form will be provided in Spring 2026.
