COVID-19 and SFCA/HiSAM

March 11, 2020

Aloha all,

We are closely monitoring COVID-19 virus (coronavirus) updates and public health recommendations from the State of Hawai‘i Department of Health (DOH). The DOH is providing updates online at https://health.hawaii.gov/docd/advisories/novel-coronavirus-2019.

At this time, the State Foundation on Culture and the Arts (SFCA) office and the Hawai‘i State Art Museum (HiSAM) will remain open during regular business hours.

The following March 2020 HiSAM public programs have been cancelled:

  • Artist Pau Hana event with Daniel Kelin, originally scheduled for March 18.
  • Super Saturday event, originally scheduled for March 28.
  • Art Lunch event, originally scheduled for March 31.

Hawai‘i State Art Museum event updates will be posted to the HiSAM website’s event calendar, https://hisam.hawaii.gov/calendar.

SFCA event updates will be posted to the SFCA’s website calendar.

As we have communicated to our staff and volunteers: if you exhibit any symptoms of COVID-19, please contact your medical provider right away and avoid large public areas such as the museum. This minimizes the chance of spreading disease and is the best way to help keep our community healthy.

Mahalo,

Jonathan Johnson, Executive Director
State Foundation on Culture and the Arts
