In partnership with the State of Hawaiʻi Department of Education (DOE), Capitol Modern: the Hawaiʻi State Art Museum is hosting a display of artworks by DOE art teachers, July 25 – August 26, 2026. “Interwoven Views: threads of influence) is on the ground floor in the cafe area, open to the public during building hours.
Participating DOE classroom teachers: Jodie Chock (Kalāheo High), Dustin Hart (Leilehua High), Hazel Ito (Governor Wallace Rider Farrington High), June Kawaguchi (Kalākaua Middle), Morgan Kelly (Kaiser High), Travis Kumano (Moanalua Middle), Jen Lum (Pearl City High), Jeanne McLaury (Pahoa High & Intermediate), Peter Murray (Waipahu High), Aljon Tacata (Governor Wallace Rider Farrington High), Morris Umeno (retired), and Wai Chung (Art) Wong (Kalāheo High).
This is the third DOE artist teacher art exhibition at the State Art Museum.
