Hula Kiʻi exhibit at Capitol Modern

Hula Kiʻi exhibit at Capitol Modern, curated by the Hula Preservation Society (HPS). This exhibit features 16 puppets, some of whom were crafted by 20th century kiʻi masters Nona Beamer and John Keola Lake. Historic photos and video also included of Hula Kiʻi being performed by a variety of masters and practitioners.

Ground floor display case. On view through December 2024. Capitol Modern is open 10:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. Monday – Saturday (closed Sundays and some state/federal holidays). Also open during evening events on the first and third Fridays of the month.
