Friends of Capitol Modern (the Hawaiʻi State Art Museum) is holding the Mod Gala 2025, “Botanical Rhapsody”, on May 3, 2025. The gala is a fundraising event with fashion shows, indigenous foods by acclaimed chefs, and a silent auction. Gala is for ages 21 and up. The museum will be closed Friday May 2 and Saturday May 3, 2025 in preparation for the gala.
Parking
Friends of Capitol Modern recommend using a ridesharing service. Parking is available in the Aliʻi Place parking garage (entrance on Alakea Street), at St. Andrew’s Cathedral, and metered street parking in the neighborhood. There is no parking available at the museum.
Mod Gala exhibit
An exhibit of work by the featured fashion designers will be open to the public Monday May 5 – Saturday June 21, 2025.
