The Hawaiʻi State Foundation on Culture and the Arts (SFCA) has provided funding support to the Hawaiʻi Ponoʻī Coalition for Hawaiian History Month 2022 programming. Celebration events include the premiere of a new Victoria Nalani Kneubuhl play about Jonah Kūhiō Kalanaiana‘ole Pi‘ikoi, from his childhood as a young prince to his adult dedication to the welfare of the people of Hawai‘i. “Ke Kauā O Ka Lāhui: The Life of Prince Jonah Kūhiō Kalanianaʻole” has also received funding support from the SFCA in the form of an SFCA American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) grant to the playwright Victoria Nalani Kneubuhl.
