Artizen has counter service with a grab-and-go cold case as well as made-to-order menu items. There is open seating indoors with tables and chairs in the air-conditioned ground floor. Visitors are also welcome to eat out on the front lawn.

The café is independently operated under a lease agreement between the Friends of the Hawai‘i State Art Museum, a 501 (c)(3) non-profit organization, and the State of Hawai‘i Department of Accounting and General Services.

Artizen is the creation of Michelle Karr-Ueoka and Wade Ueoka, the couple behind MW Restaurant, a popular restaurant on Kapi‘olani Boulevard.
