New report from NASAA “A Guide to Promoting Statewide Strategies in the Arts and Health” shares research, recommendations

The National Assembly of State Arts Agencies (NASAA) has released a new report, “A Guide to Promoting Statewide Strategies in the Arts and Health”, developed through their Arts and Health Professional Learning Community. The report includes:

  • Research highlighting the relationship between arts participation, healthy aging, mental health and community well-being
  • Five major themes of state-led practice: arts on prescription, creative aging, veterans and military communities, cross-sector partnerships, and research and evaluation
  • Six priority recommendations for the next phase of the field
  • Practical examples for state and jurisdictional arts agencies (SAAs), regional arts organizations (RAOs), funders, philanthropy, health care partners and public health agencies
