  • Responsible for managing and supervising the activities of the Art in Public Places (APP) Program to ensure the greatest public impact and distribution of works of art. Duties and responsibilities include performing short- and long-range planning and budgeting for all APP program activities in accordance with the SFCA’s mission and goals in relation to visual arts, division rules and museum standards; establishing and maintaining liaison with public and private educational, arts and culture agencies, foundations and associations; responding to inquiries about visual arts, activities and events, representing the APP Program at local, national and international visual arts activities; providing guidance and technical support for activities and projects relating to the commissioning, acquiring, enhancing, cataloging, displaying, relocating, conserving, maintaining and repairing of the State’s public art collection; and performing other related duties as assigned. Capitol Modern (the Hawaiʻi State Art Museum) is a part of the APP Program.
