At the June 8, 2026 SFCA Board of Commissioners meeting, twenty-three artworks were approved for purchase for the SFCA Art in Public Places Collection. The artworks approved included five purchases from the “Ocean of Peace” exhibition at the Maui Arts and Cultural Center. The “Ocean of Peace” exhibition at the Maui Arts and Cultural Center featured six contemporary artists of Micronesian heritage who integrate the beliefs and practices of their Micronesian cultures with lived experiences in the Hawaiian Islands.

- “Balakbak Taitampe” and “Balakbak Gaitampe” by James Bamba (Guåhan/Northern Mariana Islands), woven Pandanus vessels, 2025.
- “The Disappearance of Sipin” by Lissette Yamase (Chuuk), charcoal on paper, 2020.
